Sucessful delivery of OCNW Level 2 course in Lancashire. Updated 2007-07-09
In a partnership with Lancasher Adult Learning and BME-Pact, Educations 1st has delivered teacher training Level 2 course. Focus was on promoting teaching within women from ethinic minority. Three courses were delivered in Nelson and Accrington. The candidates will not only receive attendance certificate but if sucessful ONCW Level 2 qulification.
Educations 1st were invited to visit Accra in Ghana to support a new developing International school for expatriates living in Ghana following British curriculum. There were three visits within a year. First in May 2006 to evaluate the school. Second in October 2006 to support primary school and third in March - April 2007 to monitor the progrees the school has made since our last visit in October and train staff in the Foundation Stage of the British curriculum.
New Horizon Community School does well in OFSTED inspection. The report said ' The quality of education is good and the school meets all but one detail in one of the regulations. The school has improved significantly since the time of the last inspection.....the provision for pupis' spiritual, moral, social and cultrual development (SMSC) is good........the quality of education is good. The girls enjoy school and appreciate the good care that teachers give them. As one pupil typically said "this school just keeps on improving evey year". The curriculum is good. It is broad and balanced, reflects the ethos of the school, and meets the needs of evey pupil. It is suitably planned and adequatly resourced.'
JAK does well in CSCI and OFSTED inspection for Boarding and school. The OFSTED report said ' JAK school has improved significantly in recents years. The school meets nearly all the regualtions....The spiritual, moral, social and cultrual development of the pupils is outstanding.' The CSCI report said ' This was a positive inspection .....the school has worked hard and are continuing to do so, to improve the systems and working practice......The school was well orginised and managed........Boarders welfare fits comfortably within the ethos, aims and objectives of the school. For example, the five outcomes linked to Every Child Matters have been identified and integrated into working practices along with appropraite documentation to support them.'
INSET day in Janaury at ANI Primary School was well recieved by the staff.
There were 15 staff mostly female. The INSET was on the new Inspection Framework for Independednt Schools covering up to date information in regards to how the inspection will be carried out covering new requirement where schools will be given only 48 hours notice for inspection. The other topic in the minds of the staff was the renewed Primary Framework for literacy and mathematics.
The comments from the staff included "an excellent reminder about the pre/req for ofsted, well presented, appropraitely pitched, audience participation v.good", "comprehensive, clear and interactive element good, I enjoyed this tremdously", "the course was very good and for myself", " I enjoyed it tremendously. having gained so much information re-ofsted inspection and I feel less anxious then when I arrived at this course & also gained more insight of how it is more importnat to be well orginsed which in turn will lead to stress free teaching", "we learnt about the new strategies of literacy and numeracy. It was relly a good day", "overall -it's been an excellent outcome knowing many facts in details. I've personally learned a lot...assuring me more confident", trainer "spoke at good pace which made it easy 4 us 2 follow", "good overview of changes to the primary strategy, ...", the trainer "was well spoken, orginsed & had a freindly approch", " A great inset day", "Ice breaker activity excellent", "trainer was very accomodating, spent time answering questions relating to my subject area".
MUL School, in London is an independent school for boys aged between 12 and 16 years, founded in February 2001. Ghausia High School for Girls is an independent day school which provides education for girls aged between 11 and 16 years old. The school serves the Nelson community, but girls also travel from surrounding towns such as Brierfield, Burnley and Blackburn.
This is a school, which we have been supporting recently to raise it standard in teaching and learning. It was inspected recently by OFSTED and the inspector’s recognise the improvement the school has been making recently. "Ghausia High School for Girls is an improving school.
